The Provisional Skills Assessment Program is for recent international graduates who wish to apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485) also known as the Post-Vocational Education Work Stream.
It assesses whether your Australian qualification is at the required level relevant to your Nominated Occupation and meets the prerequisites for the Job Ready Program.
After we have assessed and verified your application, you will receive your Program Outcome Letter via your registered email.
If your assessment is successful, you will receive a Program Outcome Letter which you can use to:
• Apply for a Temporary Graduate visa (subclass 485).
• Register for the Job Ready Program.
Your Provisional Skills Assessment outcome is valid for 3 years from the date on your outcome letter. If you wish to apply for the Job Ready Program, you must do so within this period.
The Provisional Skills Assessment Program will take approximately 12 weeks after submitting your complete documentary evidence.
Processing times may vary – they are a guide only and are subject to change. Some applications may take longer to be finalised.
To be eligible for the program, you must:
• Have completed a qualification in Australia through a Registered Training Organisation (RTO) listed on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).
• Be in a Nominated Occupation that is assessed by us.
• Hold a valid and current passport.
This program is compulsory if you are applying for the Job Ready Program and must be completed before you can apply.
The total cost to complete this program is $130. You can make payment through our Online Portal when you submit your application.
All costs are in Australian dollars (AUD). More information about fees, including any additional assessment fees (if required), reviews and refunds is in the Provisional Skills Assessment Program Guidelines.
